What are DeWitt’s Strategic Plans for Diversity Now and in the Future?
In order to maintain and encourage diversity within the firm and to improve upon our efforts for future generations, it takes measured, proactive and diligent steps. DeWitt has a Diversity and Inclusion Committee which is co-chaired by Michele Perreault – Practice Group Chair of our Family Law Group and Jordan Lamb – Practice Group Chair of our Government Relations Group. Additional members represent a cross section of attorneys and staff throughout the firm. The Committee works on a variety of initiatives related to the firm’s efforts in continuing to foster an inclusive and diverse environment at DeWitt. Recruitment and retention of talent, identifying organizations and pro-bono opportunities that foster diversity, supporting community initiatives, internal training and more are a few of the focus areas of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee. In addition, each year the Firm actively works to target diversity opportunities at the law clerk and student recruitment levels and also proactively works to identify unique lateral attorney opportunities.
Community Efforts with Diversity
Whether we are assisting the LGBT community in its efforts to educate people on the laws related to same-sex marriage or are supporting non-profits such as the Wisconsin Equal Justice Foundation, Junior Achievement, The Red Cross Society, or Agrace Hospice care for the elderly – it is clear through the broad range of our efforts that diversity, understanding, inclusion and philanthropy are pillars that remain strong within our firm.
